I found this piece of machine embroidery and beading whilst decluttering. I can remember making it at university.

Any suggestions what I can turn it into to make it a useful object? (clothing and jewellery maybe?)

The Opheliac In Me.. [Tote Bag and T-Shirt] [04 Oct 2009|01:16pm]

Well I'm not sure if there are any Emilie Autumn fans in this community, but basically Emilie Autumn is releasing her book in a huge bundle which includes this cute Tote bag and an Exclusive T-shirt.
Now I love EA with a passion, and I'd love to wear these to a show of her's that is coming up, but I already know that there are going to be plenty of fans there already, with the same Tote bag and shirt. I want to make it look a little more unique, but I've never even owned a Tote bag before so I don't know what I could possibly do to add a unique touch to it. Also since this is an exclusive shirt I'm really nervous about hacking it to pieces, so if anyone has any "safe" ideas that they'd be willing to throw out there, let me know.

If anyone could give me ideas, I'd really appreciate it, not to mention there's free tea and crumpets for any friendly helper :]

Polos [03 Feb 2009|10:24pm]

I work at TGI Friday's and we're allowed (more like required) to customize our shirts. Most people get ugly iron on gems or lettering to customize it, but I wanted to do something a little more original, like a reconstruction. However, since its a polo and I can't add fabric to it, I can't really think of anything. I can do anything because I normally wear an undershirt so it doesn't really matter if it is a halter or whatever that might show skin.

any ideas? :)

This is my class shirt ive had for 3 years now. My final pep rally is coming up and i want to deconstruct the shirt. Obviously I have to do something that is school appropriate. The problem is I have no clue what to do with it. And the back of it has already been written on and I dont know how to improve that.

Ideas for the Die-hard Tomboy? [21 Sep 2008|03:45pm]

Does anyone have any masculine T-shirt surgery ideas? I got 5 new plain shirts, but 3 of them my sister got identical ones to, so I want to surge them - anybody have any ideas for a girl who doesn't do the girly stuff (halters/skirts/etc.etc.)? I don't know that I really want to do any stencils either, unless someone has a really great idea for a stencil. (Actually, stencil might be a cool idea! ;D) I'm kind of a classy-casual mixer-upper... I really like neo-victorian stuffed mixed up with cyberpunk-street fun-casual, all 99% dude things. Guys, have any ideas for... guys? (And the girls who dress like guys?) Outside of manliness, I guess I also like 'boyish' things... like the things that aren't actually manly, but moms dress their boys in anyway. XD Puffy, silly, childish funstuff is cool too.
Would LOVE as many ideas as you can think of one this one. Thanks!

I need some help.... [01 Sep 2008|05:13pm]

I have a 'I love NY' t-shirt, and I'm fine with it being long, as I like long tops, but I want to alter the neckline, and the arms. However, it's the only top I want to really alter, and I was wondering if anyone could give me any tips?

If so, it would be very much appreciated. I don't have a sewing machine and stuff, so its gonna have to be pretty much basic alterations.

kind of at a loss as to what to do. not really looking to cut up anything. i was thinking maybe a huge nautical star from top to bottom on the side. the alternating fabric would be this mustard yellow with black splotches and turquoise lace (if i can find it)

any ideas?
